Lyana Ulikhanyan (*2010) has been playing cello since she was 4 and currently studies at the Tchaikovsky music school in Yerevan, Armenia. Her cello teacher in Armenia is David Melkonyan, in Europe – Denis Severin. Lyana is a winner of numerous competitions: Grand Prix and cello in Competition organised by the AGBU (2018, Armenia), 1st prize in online competition “The Muse” (2019, Greece), 1st prize in G.Mahler CC (2021, Czech Republic), 2nd prize in “World Vision Music Contest” (2022, Austria), gold prize at the Amadeus International Music Online Competition Musikverein (2022, Austria). She has soloed with orchestras in Armenia, Austria, Greece, Russia. Lyana has participated in masterclasses led by celebrated cellists Mischa Maisky, Danjulo Ishizaka, Alexander Ramm. She is a participant of the “Rutesheim Cello Academy”.
