South-Korean Seungchan Song is a former member of Project Midam in Korea, a literature-music collaborating group that seeks to find ways to convey literature in music. He is a prizewinner of Gustav Mahler Competition (Czech Republic) and French Music Competition, and has held solo recitals in US and Asia. Seungchan has been involved with Conservatory’s contemporary ensemble, Musica Nova, and collaborated with composers and guest artists such as Chen Yi, Yotam Haber and Hans Thomalla. Seungchan holds a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University, and is currently undergoing a Master of Music degree in University of Missouri-Kansas City (Michael Mermagen). Seungchan has participated in master classes by Zlatomir Fung and John Sharp and had studied with Susan Moses, Astrid Schween and Ukjin Yang.
